Misterio Cabernet (2007)

Description:

Argentina still offers good value in wine. Misterio is made by Finca Flichman, one of Argentina’s oldest wineries.The original estate, the family’s homestead at the foot of the Andes with its brick and stucco buildings constructed behind strong walls for protection from the raids of the Huarpe Indians, has been restored and preserved.

The vineyards extend over 740 acres in two zones of the Mendoza Valley, Barrancas and Tupungato.

Flichman was purchased by the Portuguese group Sogrape in 1998 and they have been actively expanding the vineyards and investing in the latest equipment and technology.

Misterio is crafted in the tradition of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged for four months in oak casks.

This charismatic Cabernet offers a noseful of ripe cherry with more depth than you might expect at the price. Beyond the soft fruit you’ll find a touch of vanilla, a whiff of smoky sage and sweet spice. It’s plump on the palate with mellow tannins and a good finish.
